Humanitarian Award

TRiO Home

Do you know that special student who contributes to the community
and the world as well? Nominate that special someone today!

The TRiO Club demonstrates the “Helping Hand” philosophy
through its annual scholarship program. The primary purpose
of the club’s fund raising efforts is to provide scholarships to
Purdue University North Central students. This year, in addition to
the TRiO Club Scholarships, the Club has implemented an
annual humanitarian award for a student who best demonstrates
the "Helping Hand" philosophy throughout the community and world.

Criteria:

The recipient of the TRiO Club Humanitarian PAC Award
will be able to demonstrate:

  1. Involvement in and contribution to one or more of the following: civic,
community, or nonprofit agencies or organizations. (Participation in civic &
      service clubs; charitable activities; political action on behalf of the public;
fraternal groups; involvement in community events; advocating for minority
      groups, etc.)

**IMPORTANT NOTE: Simply being a member of an organization will be
considered, but specified contributions to the club or organization's goals will
carry more weight (e.g.: a leadership position, committee membership, chair,
      event organizer, etc.)

  2. Work toward a global climate that promotes positive relationships through
multicultural activities that encouraged the acceptance, respect, and
appreciation where human diversity is valued and celebrated.
