  • Advisors Dr. Janusz Duzinkiewicz and Beth Rudnick in attendance.

 

  • In regards to the Constitution, Ericka has made all appropriate changes that were asked.  Need to determine purpose of club and add.  Club may want to review termination clause to change place(s) where money would go if club was terminated.

 

  • Purpose for club – words expressed were: duty, dialog, tolerance, get dialog going, action, not everyone has to agree, participation, viewpoints, issues at hand, look at in a different light, public forum – if anyone has ideas on a club purpose, contact Camie Tyler.

 

  • Club Meeting Notes will be emailed to all members before all future meetings to cut down on paper.

 

  • Any ideas for a club logo, contact Camie Tyler.

 

  • Fundraising ideas? Interested in ideas that would be environmentally sound. Some ideas: seedlings, flowers, Carol Wilson mentioned contacting the DNR and Arbor Society.  Fair Trade Fundraising Ideas: Chocolate for Freedom Fundraiser.  Dawn Ulicni mentioned getting information.  Possible tribute to Dr. Barclay with free trade chocolate.  Any ideas? Contact Camie Tyler.

 

  • Money from fundraisers will be used for paper, envelopes, postage for letter writing campaigns.

 

  • There will be summer meetings, at least one per month.  Dates to be announced and emailed to membership. Meetings will be held on Tuesdays at 1pm.

 

  • Letter writing campaigns – possible team-up with Social Work Club for Leonard Peltier.  More information/thoughts on subject to come in future meetings.

 

  • Carol Wilson shared P.A.T.H. information.

 

  • Possible PNC Library project in the fall. Camie Tyler will speak with K.R. Johnson and invite him to a future meeting.

 

  • Graduate Ericka Bales expressed how proud she was to be involved in Active Voices and proud of all its members and what the club is out to do.
