v     Advisor Beth Rudnick in attendance.

v     Approval of Agenda: Motion, Sue; Second, Carol

v     The club voted for Active Voices to back Northwest Indiana Coalition Against the Iraq War (NWICAIW) unanimously.

o       The meeting with Sy Moskowitz at VU - possible project of a series of speakers on the Iraq war including both pro/con. Sy happy to be working with students at PNC.

o       Speakers possibly found on campus? No expense attached, or if any a very small amount ($10-15). Ask Professor Burgwald, Scipes, others from Social Science? Will look into more possibilities. 

o       Downloadable flyers from NWICAIW. Sue will download, add Active Voices information and post around campus.

o       Co-sponsor with Philosophy club?

v     Club decided the campus project of looking into labs and fees associated with too big for small club. Project nixed.

v     Community project: Cell phone collection for local domestic violence shelters.

o       Patrick and Sue will co-chair the project.

o       Need secure locations for drop off so phones will not be stolen.

§         Patrick contacting  Learning Center

§         Sue contacting Dean of Students Office and Library

§         Camie will contact Bursar’s office.

§         Group will give update at next meeting.

§         Sue will contact Caring Place (Valparaiso) and Stepping Stone (Michigan City) to see if interested. Will update at next meeting.

§         Possibly 2-4 weeks in duration.

v     “Didya Know?” Posters/flyers posted on campus constantly need updating and new ideas

v     Looking for new members – need more members. Active recruiting?

v     Camie had concerns about workloads and responsibilities of members.

o       “Didya Know?” articles for The Voice will be split up among members.

o       Dates Available: Issue 7 Feb. 3 – Beth. Subject: Liberal Arts Grads

§         Issue 8 March 3 – Troy. Subject: Stem Cell Research

§         Issue 9 March 31 and Issue 10 April 24 still available. If interested, contact Camie or Sue
